“My inspiration comes from natural treasures that I collect on country walks with my dogs. They fill vases, jugs and bowls all around my home. Dried flowers, foliage, feathers, twigs and stones embellish every surface. I started making natural, organic forms in wire, such as seed heads, based on the treasures I’d collected.

I began making other forms such as birds and insects, some of which were exhibited at Chelsea Flower Show. This then evolved into structures such as cages and vessels. I sometimes add elements of gathered ephemera, especially old book pages and maps.

My work has appeared in several magazines, exhibitions and artists open house over the years.

My current creations have been centred around making vessels in which to hold and display everyday treasures and finds. Each piece I create is unique, with individual design characteristics.

I have always loved illustrating, life drawing, painting and creating. My interests took me to study silversmithing for a number of years at evening classes. This is where I developed an interest in working with metal which led to a passion for creating forms with wire.

Previously I trained as a graphic designer and worked for over thirty years in packaging and corporate design. For many years I have also been a collector and seller of vintage and antiques.”
