Tom Henry Morris (B.1981) is a self-taught artist with a background in Graphic Design, Creative Direction and Illustration. He lives and works in Bristol — based at Jamaica Street Studios.
Born and raised in southwest England, Tom’s work weaves narratives from an imaginary everyday life. Often characterised by muted colours and rough washy layers of paint, his art is shaped by observation of the day-to-day and a love of storytelling which is rooted in the memories of his small-town upbringing.
Tom has had a highly successful start to his career this year beginning with a sell-out show at Milieu followed by a debut solo exhibition in his hometown of Bristol that drew collectors from both around the UK and overseas.

Tom Morris
Tom Morris is a Bristol-based artist whose work weaves narratives from an imaginary everyday life. Working primarily in acrylic on board or pastel on paper, his work brings a refreshing edge to contemporary British portraiture, still life, or a striking combination of the two.
Through a muted palette and rough washy layers of paint, Morris builds captivating scenes that emerge from deeply textured surfaces. His work is shaped by a passion for storytelling which is rooted in the clever observation and memory of his small-town upbringing.
