CAROLINE ROBINSON
Caroline Robinson (b. 1987) is a Cornwall-based abstract painter whose gestural works are characterised by distinctive mark-making in oil on canvas and panel. Drawing inspiration from the landscapes, light, and atmosphere of the natural world, she creates layered compositions that sit between memory, place, and imagination.
Her paintings explore the transience of light and the act of capturing fleeting moments, translated through lyrical abstractions rich in colour, movement, and surface. Recognised for their delicate brushwork and nuanced patina, Robinson’s works are developed intuitively, seeking to evoke the essence of a place rather than depict it directly.
Alongside her studio practice, Robinson teaches at the St Ives School of Painting and is the Founder and Director of Milieu Studios. Her work has been exhibited throughout the UK and is held in private collections internationally.
Caroline set up Milieu in 2023 to support other artists in their careers and to harness the relationships forged whilst working as a professional painter.
