We’re thrilled to introduce Ali Bassett as part of our artist interview series and in support of our exhibition Yield, featuring another joyful collection of Ali’s patchwork paintings.

Based in Penzance, Ali is strongly influenced by her immediate community and heritage in West Cornwall. Always working with the seasons and learning from their continual cycles, Ali’s work references Cornish tradition and ritual. Working in acrylic paint on patchwork canvas, Ali’s pieces feature clever compositions, as she plays with positive and negative space. Her collection for Yield hints at autumnal traditions and seasonal shifts in her local landscape, expressed through a calm and beautifully muted palette.
