TEAGAN PHAROAH-GREEN - PALE SLIP OF A BLUEBELL STALK
Pale Slip of a Bluebell Stalk
Talland garden, as with many gardens in Cornwall, has an annual abundance of bluebells. Inspired by the scientific labels given to pressed flowers in botany studies, there is a label beneath the bluebell stem, created from the selvedge of the vintage Japanese kimono silks used to create the bluebell flowers. When translated it refers to the fibre content of the fabric (100% silk) and the composition of the dyes used to create the colour print.
The embroidered text reads “the pale slip of a bluebell stalk” and “Rosy sun” – both from Woof’s Diary
Outer body: Vintage cotton twill, 1930s silks, vintage Japanese kimono silks, vintage silk/cotton threads
Lining: 1920s silk
Buttons: Curzo, made entirely from recycled materials
Measurements of garment laid flat:
Bust: 57cm
Length: 54cm
