LAURA WINSTONE
Laura Winstone is a Norfolk-based ceramic artist and award-winning illustrator creating Delft and folk art–inspired stoneware. Her work is influenced by Norfolk wildlife and by decorative details drawn from historic decorative arts.
All of her pieces are hand-built, giving each form a gentle individuality. Working mainly in blue and white, she uses simple, hand-painted motifs to tell quiet stories across functional forms. Birds, flowers and rural scenes feature throughout her work. She creates romantic-shaped vases, unusual tulip forms and scalloped-edged plates, pairing expressive silhouettes with traditional pattern and a fresh, contemporary feel.
Works included in our current spring show ‘Vernal Unfolding’
