TOM HEYWOOD
Tom Heywood is a sculptor and designer based in Penzance, Cornwall, known for creating entirely one-off pieces that are deeply connected to the material from which they are formed. Each sculpture is a response to the texture, age, and character of the wood, allowing the material itself to guide the stylistic direction of the final work. Graceful, stylish, and striking, his sculptures hold an irresistible appeal—both to the eye and to the soul.
“I design and create unique furniture, sculpture, and interiors, all from my workshop in Penzance. From a young age, I’ve been passionate about craft and design. After gaining valuable experience within the woodworking industry, I felt compelled to branch out and develop my own identity. My work is rooted in a deep respect for the natural world. I use a blend of traditional woodworking techniques and contemporary design to produce sculptural pieces that are not only visually captivating but also retain a sense of functionality.”

CARVED ASH SEAT
“For all of the years I have been designing and working on projects. I have worked with a vast amount of timbers from all over the world, but in actual fact, my favourite is grown commonly right on my doorstep in the UK. What I love most about Ash, is its colour and wonderful clean consistent grain patterns which is something usually uncommon in the natural world. I find Ash works well on contemporary design as it’s subtle when trying to capture an organic element.”
Pedn has been hand carved from a tree stump and hollowed on the underside for easy mobility. A perfect piece to sit back, relax and let the imagination run wild.

Introducing Melyn - a striking steam-bent ash sculpture by Tom Heywood, hand-carved and finished in a vibrant statement colour. The name Melyn, meaning "yellow" in Cornish, reflects the piece's bold energy and warmth. Like sunshine, it brings brightness, positivity, and mental clarity to any space.
