CHARLOTTE SALT

Charlotte Salt is an artist based in North Yorkshire, UK. Clay holds a special significance for Charlotte - her parents set up a studio pottery before she was born, so she has many childhood memories of crafting with clay, and found herself instinctively drawn back to working with this medium. Charlotte's work still retains a playful, expressive quality, and her love of working with clay is evident in each piece. Her work is intuitively handcrafted using coiling, slab-building, modelling and pinching techniques. Each piece is unique, from the brush strokes on the surface to the physical imprints that intentionally remain, serving as a testament to the making process.

Charlotte’s distinctive painterly mark making is particularly evident in her flatwares and plates, each piece with its own distinctive character and personality.
